Coming Soon · Built Tough, Worn Proud

Don't feel naked
driving hitchless.

Son of a Hitch makes hitch caps and hitch plugs with actual character — designed to fit any standard hitch receiver and make people at the boat ramp do a double take. Rugged where it counts, cheeky where it doesn't.

SON OF A HITCH EST. 2026
The Story

Born in a garage.
Named after a pun.

Your truck says a lot about you. Then there's that empty black square hanging off the back — the open receiver tube — saying nothing at all. We thought that was a shame.

So Son of a Hitch was born: a small shop turning the most overlooked square inch of your rig into the best one. Every hitch cap is designed to shrug off weather, seal out road grime, and survive gravel roads, salt spray, and questionable parallel parking — then finished with a design that actually has something to say.

Tough enough for the trail. Funny enough for the tailgate. That's the whole idea.

Hitch Cap FAQ

What exactly is a hitch cap?
A hitch cap — also called a hitch plug or trailer hitch cover — is a plug that slides into the open square receiver tube on the back of your truck or SUV. It keeps out road grime, water, and bugs, and gives the back of your rig some personality instead of a blank black hole.
Will it fit my truck or SUV?
Our caps are made to fit any standard hitch receiver found on most trucks and SUVs. Full fitment details will land on each product page at launch.
Are they built to last outdoors?
That's the whole point. Every cap is designed to be weatherproof and rust-resistant — engineered to shrug off rain, mud, salt, and sun so it still looks sharp after a season of towing. We're finalizing materials now and will publish full specs at launch.
When does Son of a Hitch launch?
